Starting the week of January 6, MSD will begin removal of the Stratford Lake Pump Station at the end of Castlebrook Court in Green Township. The work is expected to be completed by spring 2025, pending weather and field conditions.
MSD is hosting an Industry Day for interested contractors and consultants on January 23, 2025. The event, to be held in MSD's Administration Building from 8:00-11:00 a.m., will focus on MSD's capital program, including a 2025 look ahead for projects and contracts.
Starting the week of December 16, MSD will begin work to upgrade solids disposal and odor control facilities at the Little Miami Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in the East End/Columbia-Tusculum neighborhood. This work includes construction of three anaerobic digesters to process waste solids. The work is scheduled to be completed by early 2028, pending weather and field conditions.
This project will not impact vehicle traffic on Kellogg Avenue or pedestrians on the adjacent Ohio River Trail, which runs on the northeast side of the plant grounds. However, the Kellogg Avenue entrance to the Little Miami WWTP will be closed to all traffic, including emergency vehicles, from December 16 through 2027. The Wilmer Road entrance to the Little Miami WWTP will remain open.
The Hamilton County Commissioners have approved MSD's 2025 budgets and a 3.75% sewer rate increase, which will take effect January 1, 2025.
MSD's Operating Budget is $240.9 million, and MSD's Capital Budget is $529.7 million. The sewer rate increase will cost the average single-family residential household an additional $2/month.
MSD hosted a public forum on the water quality of Muddy Creek and other west-side tributaries of the Ohio River on December 11.
The forum covered the results of a recent biological and water quality study.
The results of the study show that 71% of the sites sampled in Indian Creek, Muddy Creek, Rapid Run, and Taylor Creek are not in attainment with their aquatic life use designation.
Mill Road will be closed to thru traffic between Aspenhill Drive and Springdale Road during weekday daylight working hours starting the week of December 16 through early January 2025 as MSD constructs new lateral sewers for four residences.

Starting Thursday, November 14, Pendleton Street in downtown Cincinnati will close to northbound traffic between Reading Road and E. 12th Street for up to six weeks. A posted detour will be in place. Pendleton will remain open to southbound traffic.

MSD will begin constructing a local sanitary sewer and lateral sewers along Taylor Road and Springoak Drive in Green Township in early September. Taylor Road will be closed to thru traffic between Rybolt and Bridgetown roads starting around September 9 for approximately 60 days.
The Hamilton County Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) will conduct a public hearing on the proposed Kenwood Hills Local Sewer (S.S. No. 5933, Project ID 10370025) on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at Madeira City Hall, 7141 Miami Avenue (45243).
This proposed sewer assessment will bring public sewer service to 160 properties and is located along Coachlite Way, Margo Lane, Oakvista Drive, Mapleridge Drive, Kenwood Hills Drive, Maplespur Lane, and Vistaridge Lane and traverse 5795 Carmargo Road in the City of Madeira.

Hamilton County has submitted its draft Phase 2B plan to reduce sewer overflows into local streams and rivers. This proposed 10-year plan is the next phase of MSD's wet weather program.
