Development Services

 

 

MSD's Development Services group is responsible for sewer records, availability of sewer service, sewer tap permits and tapper licenses, and plan review, among other services. 

 

MAKE A PAYMENT

MSD accepts cash, checks, or online payments for sewer tap permits, sewer tapper licenses, and inspection fees. Please contact Development Services by phone to verify fees before making a payment.

 

  • Make a payment online. You can pay with a credit/debit card, electronic check, or via Click to Pay.
    NOTE: Please include a copy of the payment receipt with your sewer tap permit application, sewer tapper license renewal, or inspection fee deposit worksheet.

  • Make a payment via mail or in person. Payments may be mailed to or paid in person at MSD's Development Services office.

 

UTILITY REVIEWS

Utility review projects can include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Headwalls and retaining walls
  • Culverts and storm sewers
  • Electric/fiber optic mains, gas mains, and water mains
  • Bridges, street rehabilitation or improvements, streetscapes, hike/bike trails, and sidewalks
  • Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) projects

PRIVATE BUILDING SEWERS - MAINTENANCE RESPONSIBILITY

A building sewer is the underground sewer pipe that connects the plumbing in a home or business to the MSD public sewer system. It’s also called a house tap, lateral line, or building sewer lateral.

 

Property owners are responsible for keeping the entire length of a building sewer clear of clogs and blockages and for repairing any broken or collapsed portion of the building sewer that is located on their private property.

REQUEST FOR AVAILABILITY OF SEWER SERVICE

A Request for Availability of Sewer Service application is required for new construction, modification of an existing property for an increased or new use, and/or lot splits. This application is necessary to ensure sewers are accessible and have capacity to service the property.
