Pretreatment Program Rules, Regulations, and Policies

 

 

OVERVIEW

The purpose of MSD's Pretreatment Program is to:

 

  • Prevent the introduction of pollutants into our public sewer system that will pass through the system without being adequately treated into local rivers and streams.
  • Prevent the introduction of pollutants into our sewers and treatment plants that will interfere with our operations.
  • Protect MSD personnel in the course of their employment and the general public.
  • Enable MSD's compliance with its National Pollutant Discharge Elimination (NPDES) permits, sludge disposal, and other environmental regulations.

AUTHORITY

MSD's Pretreatment Program is approved by the Ohio EPA and is governed by our Rules and Regulations, as specified below.
