Welcome
to the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnatis (MSD)
web site for the Sycamore Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion project.
Located in Symmes Township, the Sycamore Creek plant serves more than 30,000 customers in Blue Ash, Indian Hill, Madeira, Montgomery, and Sycamore and Symmes townships. The Sycamore plant is one of seven major wastewater treatment plants operated by MSD in Hamilton County. MSD would like to expand the treatment capacity of the Sycamore plant to handle area wastewater flows well into the future. The plant has frequently operated in excess of its capacity during wet weather when higher than normal wastewater flows occur. During extreme rain events, the plant is sometimes overwhelmed, resulting in raw sewage overflows into Sycamore Creek and the Little Miami River. Planned expansions and improvements to the plant will increase its design average treatment capacity from 6 to 9 million gallons per day (MGD) during dry weather and from 32 to 50 MGD during wet weather. This web site is dedicated to keeping you informed about MSDs plans for expanding the Sycamore plant. If you have any questions or concerns about this project, please contact MSDs 24-hour customer service line at (513) 244-5500. |
