The Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati, Ohio, (MSD) was created in 1968 by an agreement between Hamilton County and the City of Cincinnati. This agreement consolidated the City's Sewer Department with Hamilton County's Sewer District. Under the agreement, MSD is a County Sewer District, with the management and operated provided by the City of Cincinnati. The agreement is a 50-year contract between the two governments. MSD's employees work at facilities located throughout the county, and provide service to customers in most of the county's municipalities and townships.
MSD operates according to its Rules & Regulations, the document which serves as the basis for MSD's authority and responsibility. Rules & Regulations, approved by the Hamilton County Board of Commissioners, contains information on terminology, rates and jurisdiction which apply to MSD's operations. If you wish, you may download Rules & Regulations from this site.

(Note: MSD does not currently publish Annual Reports; the 2002 report is the most recent available.)
