MSD Divisions and Superintendents

MSD has 9 divisions:

  • Office of the Director: Jack Rennekamp, Division Manager, overseen by the MSD Director. Responsible for legislation, communications & public affairs, and real property acquisition and management. MSD's General Counsel and Public Records Coordinator report directly to the MSD Director.

  • Finance & Accounting: Beverly Engram, Division Manager, overseen by Deputy Director and CFO Ihab Tadros. Responsible for financial accounting, budget monitoring, payroll, and stores.

  • IT: Don Sander, Division Manager, overseen by Deputy Director and CFO Ihab Tadros. Responsible for computer operations and network infrastructure, business system technologies, and the MSD Help Desk.

  • Wastewater Collection: Jennifer Richmond, Superintendent, overseen by Deputy Director and COO MaryLynn Lodor. Responsible for operating and maintaining MSD's sewer collection system, which is comprised of 3,000-plus miles of combined and separate sewer systems across Hamilton County. The division is also responsible for the Sewer Backup (SBU) Program and 24/7 customer call center.

  • Wastewater Treatment: Andy Rossiter, Superintendent, overseen by Deputy Director and COO MaryLynn Lodor. Responsible for operating and maintaining MSD's seven major wastewater treatment plants, 100-plus pump stations, two package treatment plants and several high-rate treatment facilities across Hamilton County.

  • Watershed Operations: Melissa Niehaus, Superintendent, overseen by Deputy Director and COO MaryLynn Lodor. Responsible for remote monitoring, modeling, wet weather assets, green infrastructure program to manage stormwater/reduce CSOs, and the optimization of conveyance and treatment of wastewater during wet weather ("smart sewers").

  • Regulatory Compliance & Safety: Melissa Niehaus, Acting Superintendent, overseen by Deputy Director and COO MaryLynn Lodor. Responsible for monitoring and regulating industrial and commerical customers, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, providing analytical laboratory services and ensuring the safety and security of MSD employees and facilities.

  • Wastewater Engineering: Ryan Welsh, Sewers Chief Engineer, overseen by Deputy Director Pat Arnette. Responsible for planning, design, construction, project controls and QA/QC for MSD's Capital Improvement Program (CIP). In addition, this division houses Development Services, Document Control, and Program Management for the Lower Mill Creek Partial Remedy (LMCPR), which includes the Lick Run Greenway project.

  • Wastewater Administration: Vanessa Smedley, Superintendent, overseen by the MSD Director. Responsible for HR, training, and the Small Business Enterprise (SBE) program.
