Phase 2
The primary
focus of Phase 2 is to expand the plant’s capacity for handling
solids generated by the wet weather treatment system and the upgraded
plant. This system will include:
Improved grit removal and grit dewatering facilities.
- Expanded
raw sewage pumping station.
- New excess
activated sludge gravity thickening system and aerated holding tank.
- New primary
sludge gravity thickening system and aerated holding tank.
- Modified
primary treatment system.
- Improved
secondary treatment and associated equipment.
- Covers
and new odor controls (e.g., compost biofilters) on the sludge gravity
thickeners and thickened sludge holding tanks.
- New Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) computer system
to automate the plant.
All thickened
solids will continue to be hauled to the Little Miami or Mill Creek
plants for dewatering and incineration.
Phases 1
and 2 are being tracked together. More detailed
process design information on these phases is available in PDF
format.
Estimated
Phase 1 and 2 Project Costs: $21.4 million
